Fucus is a brown seaweed native to rocky shores, belonging to the Fucaceae family, which owes its name to the presence of gas vesicles in its morphology. The active part of the seaweed is its perennial stems, which contain mucilaginous polysaccharides and mineral salts. It is a remineralizing species, with iodine being the most important mineral, and the one that gives the seaweed its medicinal value.
Properties
Traditionally, fucus has been used as a metabolic activator thanks to its iodine content (promoting weight loss by increasing calorie burning). It has also been shown to have a satiating effect due to the inhibition of α-amylase and α-glucosidase. Likewise, several studies suggest its use in alleviating the symptoms of skin aging, preventing the reduction of dermal thickness and increasing its elasticity.
Main indications
Overweight.
Satiating.
Skin anti-aging.
Instructions for use
Take 1-2 capsules daily.
Precautions
Due to the presence of iodine, its use is not recommended in cases of thyroid problems (it can alter TSH levels), menstrual disorders (since it has a certain estrogenic effect), or treatments with lithium (in bipolar disorders).
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and under 18 years of age: It is recommended not to administer.
